Launch & Boards Autumn 2009A few more photos of the boards, keel, rudder etc before launch in October 2009. No sailing so far this year sadly! Sanded and repainted the boot topping in a hard antifouling paint. Will see if it stays in better nick this year! Photos include shots of the boards fully extended for maintenance and in the approximate maximum operational position. click individual images to see a high res version Summer 2008We've been a bit quiet on this site this year, but just to prove that Elsa is still out there and we do occasionally get away from our desks to visit her, here are some pictures from our main summer holiday in 2008. Twas the Clyde and inner hebrides again and this time in the company of our friends Danielá & Jiří from the Czech Republic. click individual images to see a high res version Summer 2007The Clyde and Inner Hebrides - Two weeks of bliss. We'll sort them chronologically and include photo's other than of Elsa at some point, but here's a few pix for now. click individual images to see a high res version Under sail at last - May 2007After all the problems last year we were starting to feel as though we'd never get Elsa under sail again, but here she is on our first sailing outing round Arran and Bute. click individual images to see a high res version Servicing of the liferaft - 12-01-2007We finally got around to taking Elsa's liferaft to be serviced today. The service record inside the survival rations showed that the raft was commissioned in 1987 and has never been serviced - eek! It's testimony to the quality of Zodiac liferafts that an unserviced 20 year old raft still inflated with relatively minor persuasion required. click individual images to see a high res version Launch Day - 23-05-2006This was the first opportunity we'd had to get the centerboards down for cleaning, antifouling and general inspection. We were rushing about trying not to hold up the people waiting for the hoist, so didnt get before pictures, or pictures of the boards in their normal operational postion, but these pix of them fully extended give the general idea. click individual images to see a high res version |
