About Elsa

Here's a history in brief. We'll be posting further information as and when we get hold of it - In the meantime this is some of what we know about Elsa:

We are Elsa's fourth owners. She was built/completed in 1984 in the Fu Hwa boating Co Ltd boat yard, Taipei, Taiwan and was the 61st of the 85 krogen 38's produced.

We're not sure, but from our documentation it looks like she was first commissioned August 1985. Her first owners were C&S, a couple then from Hollywood, Florida, who named her Carole-San.

12 April 1988 she was sold to BM, who renamed her Elsa and sailed her across the Atlantic.

In Gibraltar on 3rd August 1990 she was sold to Adrian Gray, a UK resident, who has cared for her from that time until our purchase was completed on the 10th February 2006.

Previous boats:

Most recently was Dallandra, a Beneteau First 26, sold in June 2006. A lovely lovely boat and much missed. Now to be seen sailing just north of Dublin.
Dallandra (formerly Rum Punch and First Lady) seems to change hands every few years. She's such fab fun to be out in that all owners are seriously bitten by the sailing bug and she's left behind in the pursuit of 'more' & 'further'. Don't feel too bad for her though - she gets to be with a series of enthusiastic new sailors who think she's wonderful. For anyone thinking of buying their first sailing boat, we think the Beneteau First 26 is perfect & that's no sales pitch, she's already sold :)

Before Dallandra was Magpie, a Macgregor 26x. The Macgregor 26x is a hybrid powerboat/sailing yacht and there's serious fun to be had. Most appealing points are the ability to switch to engine an be home in minutes plus the fact that they are unsinkable. Very re-assuring. They're great if you're making the transition from power boating to sailing, or live inland and dont want the expense of a Marina berth.

Feel free to drop us a line if you want to ask anything about either of these boats.

And here's the moat recent guess at weather where we are:
